Somatic Healing
Somatic Healing & Nervous System Regulation
Somatic healing focuses on the relationship between the body, the nervous system, and emotional experience.
When we move through stress, trauma, or intense life experiences, the body often develops patterns of tension and protection. These responses are natural survival mechanisms, but over time they can become habitual, shaping how we feel, react, and move through the world.
Somatic work brings attention back to the body as a source of information and regulation.
Through a combination of body awareness, breathwork, gentle movement, and hands-on therapeutic work, these sessions help identify and release patterns that may be held within the nervous system and connective tissues.
The Body Holds Experience
Emotional experiences are not only psychological — they are also physical.
The nervous system, muscles, and fascial network can store patterns related to stress, overwhelm, and protective responses. These patterns may appear as:
• chronic muscle tension
• restricted breathing patterns
• heightened nervous system reactivity
• difficulty relaxing or feeling grounded
Somatic healing works with the body directly to support greater regulation, flexibility, and awareness.
What a Somatic Session May Include
Sessions are tailored to your needs and may incorporate:
• trauma-informed body awareness practices
• breathwork and nervous system regulation
• gentle somatic movement or yoga-based techniques
• fascial and therapeutic bodywork
• guided meditation for body integration
The focus is not on forcing release, but on creating the conditions where the body can safely shift and reorganize.
The Intention of Somatic Work
As the nervous system begins to regulate and the body releases long-held tension patterns, many people experience:
• greater emotional stability
• increased body awareness
• improved resilience to stress
• deeper connection with themselves
Somatic healing invites the body back into the process of healing, allowing insight and awareness to become fully embodied rather than purely intellectual.
These sessions may take place online or in person, though online will be a hands off guided experience. You may book your session online.
Please note, even though we have an RMT on staff, these sessions do not fall under the scope of Massage Therapy and therefore are not able to be billed as such.
